Friends of the Colonie Library Host Annual Fall Book Sale
The Friends of the Colonie Library are excited to announce their much-anticipated Annual Fall Book Sale, taking place from September 25-28 at the William K. Sanford Town Library, located at 629 Albany Shaker Road.
This community tradition offers an opportunity for book lovers of all ages to browse thousands of gently used books, DVDs, CDs, and more — all at bargain prices. From bestsellers and timeless classics to children’s favorites and hidden gems, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Most items are only $1 each and all money raised goes to benefit the library.
“This year is especially meaningful as we look ahead to the library’s 50th Anniversary in 2026. Proceeds from the sale will help ensure building improvements and continued growth so the library can thrive for the next 50 years and beyond.” said Becky Klope, President of the Friends of the Colonie Library. “It’s a wonderful way to support literacy, sustainability, and our community.”
Book Sale Hours:
Thursday, September 25 th – 4-7pm Preview Night: $5 cash entrance fee
Friday, September 26th – 10am-5pm
Saturday, September 27th - 10am-4pm
Sunday, September 28th – 1-4pm Special $5 Bag Sale
“The 50th Anniversary is a time to reflect on how much the library has given to generations of residents, and to invest in its future,” said Elissa Valente, Executive Director of the library. “As we prepare for the next 50 years, it’s essential that we make the necessary building improvements and enhancements to ensure the library continues to meet the evolving needs of our patrons. Every purchase made at the Fall Book Sale directly supports these efforts and helps us continue this legacy of growth and success.”
The Friends of the Colonie Library encourage all book enthusiasts to stop by, stock up on affordable reads, and help sustain the programs that make the William K. Sanford Town Library such a valuable resource for all.
