Committees
 

Ambassadors Committee

Members of the Ambassadors Committee serve as a face of the Colonie Chamber.

As an Ambassador, you…

  • promote the Colonie Chamber by pursuing new members and connect potential members to the Chamber President.

  • serve as Chamber representatives at events, such as Grand Openings and Networking events.

  • welcome new members to the Chamber.

  • engage current Chamber members through phone calls and while at events.

The Ambassadors Committee meets the third Thursday of each month from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Albany Marriott.

G*R*E*A*T Committee

The Government Relations, Economics, and Transportation (G*R*E*A*T) Committee acts as a liaison between Colonie Chamber of Commerce members, the Town of Colonie, Village of Colonie, Village of Menands, and the economic development and transportation agencies within the community. 

As a member of this committee, you…

  • inform Chamber members of important decisions, programs, and other initiatives spearheaded by the Town of Colonie, Village of Colonie, Village of Menands, and the economic development and transportation agencies.

  • communicate with members to identify how local government, economics, and transportation policies impact their businesses.

  • meet with government, economics, and transportation representatives of Colonie.

  • Coordinate Town of Colonie Supervisor and Town Board election forums.

  • Select Town of Colonie Community Beautification Achievement Award recipients.

Referral Groups

Referral groups provide members with targeted networking and ongoing relationship building. The Colonie Chamber of Commerce Referral Group is open to all members; however, only one representative from each industry may be active in the Group at one time. The Referral Group typically meets from 8 to 9 am on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at The Century House in Latham.

Currently, the Referral Group includes members from the following industries:

  • Hotels/Motels

  • Insurance (Supplemental)

  • Financial Management & Planning Service

  • Mortgage Services

  • Payroll

  • Media Outlets

  • Real Estate 

  • Promotional Items

  • Certified Public Accountants

  • Banks

  • Telecommunications Equipment

  • Contractors/Builders

  • Linen Supply Service

  • Attorneys
