Colonie Chamber of Commerce and Town of Colonie Accepting Nominations for 2013 Town of Colonie Community Beautification Achievement Awards

COLONIE N.Y. – The Colonie Chamber of Commerce’s Government Relations, Economics, and Transportation Committee (G*R*E*A*T) is seeking nominations for its Town of Colonie Community Beautifications Achievement Awards. Award recipients will be honored at the Colonie Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the Century House Hotel & Conference Center.

The Town of Colonie Community Beautification Achievement Awards were created in an effort to enhance the quality of life in the Town of Colonie and encourage contributions to the community’s physical environment. The three award categories are New Construction, Redevelopment, and Curb Appeal.

“We’re fortunate to live in a very beautiful community and it takes a lot of dedication and commitment to keep it that way,” explains Colonie Town Supervisor Paula Mahan. “These awards will not only recognize the excellence of outstanding projects, but they’ll highlight the importance of making our town vibrant and attractive.”

All nominations must be received by Friday November 15, 2013. (An accompanying photograph is required!) Judging will be based on the attractiveness of the building’s façade, suitability to site, plantings, signage, cleanliness, and maintenance.

“As a long time resident, I look forward to working together with the Town of Colonie to give recognition to those organizations who go the extra mile and help improve the appearance of their property through both design and aesthetics, explains CG Frink, Colonie Chamber of Commerce 2014 Board Chair and member of the G*R*E*A*T Committee. “It’s one of the reasons why so many choose Colonie as their home, for both themselves and their business.”

Last year the Town of Colonie and the G*R*E*A*T Committee recognized Shaker Pointe at Carondelet for New Construction, Hannoush Jewelers for Redevelopment, and Bowen & Parker Brothers Funeral Home for Curb Appeal.
