COLONIE, N.Y. -  Where do you find age appropriate clothing for young girls? At Genuine Girl, a new business in Colonie, N.Y. Located at 601 New Loudon Road Latham, Genuine Girl is a fashionable and trendy clothing and accessory boutique for girls wearing sizes 6/7 to 14/16.

Genuine Girl, a family owned boutique, has been a long-time dream of Carla Nolan. After spending more than 15 years in the elementary education field, and being the proud mom of a 9-year-old daughter who loves to shop, Nolan quickly realized the importance of providing an age appropriate clothing and accessory boutique for young girls.

Genuine Girl offers a wide variety of unique, quality, clothing and accessories which both moms and daughters will love,” explains Nolan. “We work with vendors from New York to Los Angeles to provide the latest trends in fashion at reasonable prices. Our store offers age appropriate clothing that allows girls to develop their own Genuine or real sense of style.”

What Nolan loves most about owning a business is the local support.

“Owning a small business such as Genuine Girl, allows customers to receive a personal experience while shopping. I enjoy meeting and talking with families who come in to shop at my boutique,” explains Nolan.

Nolan has a Bachelor’s in Marketing & Management from Siena College, a Master’s in Education from SUNY Albany, and completed a second Graduate program from the College of Saint Rose.
