Bored, Recently Retired? Why not VOLUNTEER?: Colonie Senior Service Centers to Host Volunteer Opportunity Fair

Colonie – On Wednesday, June 27, 2018 from 10:00 to 1:00 PM, Colonie Senior Service Centers (CSSC) will be hosting a Volunteer Opportunity Fair at the Hearst Media Center, 645 Albany-Shaker Road, Colonie, through their grant-funded Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP). RSVP is part of Senior Corps and is administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service, the federal agency that supports service and volunteering programs to improve lives, strengthen communities and foster civic engagement. Dozens of area non-profits will be present at the Volunteer Opportunity Fair ready to share volunteer opportunities with the organizations. Currently, CSSC works with 56 local non-profits in three counties and hundreds of individuals, serving as the conduit between an organization’s volunteer needs and seniors’ desire to give back to the community. The RSVP Volunteer Opportunity Fair is FREE and open to the public. There will be refreshments available, as well as a multitude of prizes/giveaways.  If you or someone you know is ready to volunteer, please check out this event. For further information, please call CSSC at (518) 459-2857 ext. 308.
