North Colonie Youth Baseball Association to Host Cal Ripken 10u State Tournament

LATHAM, N.Y. – The North Colonie Youth Baseball Association (NCYBA) is proud to announce that it will host the Eastern New York (ENY) Cal Ripken 10u State Tournament July 6 through July 10 at the Boght Baseball Complex in Latham. The event will bring more than 10 teams, 120 baseball players, and 350 plus people from eastern NY, downstate and North Country to the Capital Region.

“We are honored to host the Cal Ripken tournament and hope the players and their families will enjoy all that Colonie has to offer – a beautiful locale, friendly people, and a great range of services to ensure a pleasant stay.  I look forward to welcoming everyone to Colonie,” said Paula Mahan, supervisor, Town of Colonie.

“This tournament represents a great vehicle to bring attention to our community and our Colonie

Chamber of Commerce membership,” said Tom Nolte, president, Colonie Chamber of Commerce.

“Bringing people to this area will no doubt drive revenue into our business community.”

“North Colonie Bison Blue 10u is the two-time defending state champion and we couldn’t be more proud to host this tournament,” said Brad Burns, commissioner, North Colonie Youth Baseball Association. “It is truly an acknowledgement of how hard our kids, coaches, parents and board members have worked to bring this event here in our backyard.”

Opening ceremonies are planned for the evening of July 6 following a full day of games. Sponsorship

and volunteer opportunities are available for businesses and organizations looking to support NCYBA and the state tournament. To learn more, contact Fundraising Manager Kristen Townsend at
