CDTA Kicks Off "Alive at Five" Concert Series
Attendees Ride to Reduct Traffic Congestion and Keep It Green

ALBANY, N.Y. (June 7, 2016) The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is proud to once again serve as the preferred transportation partner for Albany’s “Alive at Five” concert series. CDTA and the City of Albany will kick-off the signature summer event series on Thursday June 9th with six-time GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Dr. John and the Nite Trippers and funk, R&B, soul and rock musicians, Jocamo.

“This partnership reinforces how public transit helps reduce traffic congestion, while providing a safe and environmentally-sound way to get around,” said CDTA Chairman David M. Stackrow. “Concert-goers get to avoid the hassles searching for parking, while being connected to just about anywhere.”

CDTA and the City of Albany will provide a limited number of complimentary bus passes for each Alive at Five concert to Albany County residents. Riders can pick up passes at City Hall, the Central Avenue BID, Downtown Albany BID and the Albany Convention Center and Visitors Bureau.  The passes will be available from 10am-4pm on the Wednesday before each show, while supplies last. One pass per person; riders must present valid ID with an Albany County address and be able to identify the bands playing that week’s concert to be eligible for the free pass.

This year due to construction in downtown Albany, concerts will be held on Broadway at Tricentennial Park from 5-8 p.m. The rain location is Corning Preserve Boat Launch at Colonie and Water Streets. Concerts are free and open to the public.
